Four Marks Parish Council

Your Parish Council

We are the level of government closest to the community. Our powers are limited but we do have to opportunity to influence and negotiate with the East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) on behalf of the community on matters that concern them. We have direct responsibility for the recreation facilities, open spaces and other civic services. In particular we are formally consulted by the EHDC on planning applications and we take a robust stance in representing local views.

It is our job to reflect the community’s views and concerns about local issues and time is always made available at meetings to hear and discuss such issues. Where these issues lie within our remit we will, where appropriate, take action.

Your Councillors are unpaid volunteers and adhere to guidelines laid down by national government see Good Councillors Guide.
